Windflower Properties is proud to present the Union Flats – a 2.4 acre development of 243 modern lofts and apartments in the heart of Union City, California
The award winning firm, David Baker Architects, has designed a premier living environment with a mix of one and two bedroom modern apartments surrounding a lush, interior courtyard and swimming pool with spa. The project includes flexible SOHO-style lofts that can be used for residential or commercial/retail use. Well-designed bicycle storage, access to biking and pedestrian hiking trails, electric car charging stations, solar hot water and green roofs are some of the sustainable features that makes this a LEED Platinum project, the highest recognition that can be given by the LEED ranking system. Windflower Properties is also pleased to incorporate ground floor storefront gallery space for the City’s Community Arts Program.
Located only one block from the Union City BART station, the project is an outstanding example of mixed use, high density housing. Because of its transit-oriented nature, the project won funding from the Infrastructure Infill Grant Program of the California Department of Housing and Community Development. CityView is an equity and development partner in the Landing at Union City. Cannon Construction was the contractor.
Modular construction was used on the project because it allows for a faster, cost-effective response to the Bay Area's housing shortage.
